Members of the Club were privileged to meet the Lord Mayor of Birmingham Councillor Yvonne Mosquito yesterday. They spent an hour with her discussing issues affecting women, here in Birmingham, as well as in Commonwealth countries. They also took the opportunity to talk about Soroptimist projects describing the way we work with clubs in other countries to improve the lives of women and girls. This was followed by a tour of the historic Grade 2 listed building.
Note: Councillor Yvonne Mosquito, who has represented Nechells for the last 22 years, has been described as a ‘fearless champion of the underdog’. She is a former West Midlands Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner.
