Joy Doal MBE,Chief Executive Officer of ANAWIM Balsall Heath Centre Birmingham was the speaker at our Club Meeting in July. Our Crafts and Laughs group made 32 Tote bags and, thanks to the generosity of members, filled 10 bags with 20 items including toiletries, pj’s, slippers, socks, pants, purse and much more. In addition to the tote bags ANAWIM was given a cheque for £150.00
The tote bags will be given to women leaving prison and coming to stay at ANAWIM where they will stay in Dawn House, a brand new 6 bed supported accommodation. Whilst living at Dawn House the women have to participate in courses, activities and a work programme whilst receiving support from their caseworker.
This building has been made a reality by the generosity of Jabbs Foundation.
