Sunday 20th September 2015 had been circled in the diary for nearly a year – the big question was not “Will Fun in the Park 2015 be bigger and better than ever?” but “Will the weather be kind to us?” The answer to both questions was a resounding “YES!”
From the start of the day it was truly “Fun in the Park” as about 5,500 people from Solihull families poured in through the gates. As soon as Councillor Glenis Slater, Mayor of Solihull, had opened proceedings the show really got on the road.
The arena performances were fantastic, the stalls varied, the dog show great fun (and not just for the dogs!) and the classic cars sparkled in the sun.
This year families could turn their hands (and feet) to archery, football, tennis and golf, children could have a go on go-karts, swing boats, a trampoline or fairground rides. The atmosphere buzzed all day as Tudor Grange Park in Solihull was filled with happy families enjoying a day out with each other.
Money was raised for three charities this year Midlands Air Ambulance, Marie Curie Home Care Service and SoLO (Solihull Life Opportunities.
The date of Sunday 18th September 2016 is already in the diary!
