On Saturday 17th October 2015, SI Solihull worked with the shops in Knowle High Street to “Paint the Town Pink” in support of the charity Breast Cancer Now. Some of the shops not only decorated their windows in pink, but threw themselves into the spirit of the day by dressing in some amazing costumes, and also selling pink cupcakes. We even noticed 3 little dogs with pink coats being led into the pet shop. The cheerleaders led the Mayor into Knowle precinct, and then gave us a display of cheerleading and acrobatic skill. The Mayor found it really difficult to choose a winner for the best dressed window but the Sweet Shop took the prize. Amazing how they even made the balloons look like lollipops. Very clever.
A HUGE THANKYOU to everyone who helped out on the day. We raised about £650 from the two collection buckets, the sales of merchandise, and the raffle.
