A warm welcome to the web pages of SI Solihull & District
In March 2011 our Club celebrated its 11th Anniversary since receiving its Charter. With 42 members, we are a vibrant Club offering a lively and varied programme of meetings and events throughout the year. Our members come from a wide range of occupations including finance, education, pharmacy, secretarial, and IT, as well as members who have retired from their jobs.
Club meetings and events
We meet on the second Thursday of each month at the Holiday Inn Hotel (formerly the Solihull Moat House hotel), Homer Road, Solihull. Meetings start at 7:30pm and take the form of a business meeting or a supper meeting. Guests and prospective members are always welcome but please do contact us beforehand so we can be sure to reserve your place/coffee/supper.
In addition to the meetings we have a programme of social events and fundraising activities. Our calendar of events is published in the Dairy 2010 – 2011 page of the website, with more detail about forthcoming events contained in “Forthcoming Events”.
Our Club Vision and Aims
Soroptimist International Solihull & District Club is an organisation for women of today. It is a member of Soroptimist International, the worlds largest women’s service organisation. It is committed to a world where women and children achieve their individual and collective potential, realise aspirations and have an equal voice in creating strong and peaceful communities world wide.
By working together, and in partnership with others, members of SI Solihull & District Club will -
- Strive to improve the lives of women and children,
- Raise awareness of, and advocate for, human rights.
- Implement practical Solihull based initiatives in support of our community.
- Work with local communities around the world implementing practical initiatives.
- Engender a spirit of fun and friendship.
